About this Event
OUHSC x NanoTemper Workshop: Biophysical Approaches to Structure-Function & Drug Discovery Challenges
Date: Tuesday, August 19,10am - 2pm (CDT)
Location: Stanton L. Young Biomedical Research Center (BRC)
NanoTemper is a global biotech company. We empower scientists to make breakthrough discoveries by providing innovative, cutting-edge tools for biomolecular analysis.
We're collaborating with OUHSC's Biochemistry and Physiology Department to host this special event. Join us and fellow local research labs for a day filled with interactive sessions on cutting-edge biophysical technologies.
Agenda
🕑: 09:30 AM - 10:00 AM
Doors Open: Casual Meet & Greet (Optional)
Info: Whether you're local to the campus or commuting in, our team will be on site bright & early to welcome you in. You can also take this opportunity to network with other attendees.
🕑: 10:00 AM - 10:30 AM
Seminar Pt 1: Fast and Easy Binding Affinity Measurements for Any Interaction
Info: For those who've worked with SPR, you know how challenging it can be. That's why NanoTemper developed Monolith X. Its the instrument that captures Kd's in-solution, so it is mass independent and compatible with any buffer, for nearly any modality. Some examples? Membrane proteins in nanodiscs, complexy ternary interactions, IDPs, PPIs, and antibodies. The best part is it can be done in minutes with nanograms of sample. That means all the same reliable biophysical data for way less resources (and headaches).
🕑: 10:30 AM - 11:00 AM
Seminar Pt 2: Measure Thermal Stability, Aggregation, and Sizing All-In-One
Info: Regardless of whether you're an academic researcher solving protein structures or an industrial scientist developing the next therapeutic, ensuring your protein's stability is a crucial QC step in every workflow. Discover how Prometheus Panta combines label-free DSF (nanoDSF) and light scattering to track protein unfolding, aggregation and particle sizing simultaneously. The result? Learn more about your protein's behavior prior to downstream assays, without sacrificing time or sample.
🕑: 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Free Lunch
Info: Feed your brain, then feed your stomach. Enjoy a lunch break while you chat with other local researchers or engage with our team about your projects.
🕑: 12:00 PM - 02:00 PM
Prometheus Panta Live Demo
Info: We'll be getting hands-on with our instrument Prometheus Panta and running attendees' samples over a live demo. Interested in learning about your protein's stability? As you complete event registration, you'll be asked if you'd like to test your sample and prompted to fill out a sample registration form. The demo marks the end of the workshop, but our team will stick around if anyone has lingering questions.
