Join us for the premiere of CANFAR's first documentary short, Still Here – A Portrait of HIV & Aging, funded by Merck, at Cineplex Lansdowne & VIP on Monday, October 20, 2025. Because of great strides in medical advancements, like those funded by CANFAR, half of all Canadians living with HIV are now over the age of 50. STILL HERE is a snapshot of the lives of Juno Award-winning singer Billy Newton-Davis (39 years living with HIV), advocate Trevor Stratton (35 years living with HIV), and drag performer Jade Elektra (35 years living with HIV) as they navigate the golden years once thought an impossible achievement for people living with HIV.
Defying the odds of the virus that has claimed the lives of over 44.1 million people globally since the early 80’s, Jade, Trevor and Billy are not only aging with HIV – but they’re aging well, and on their own terms.
Reception at 6pm, Screening at 7pm. Runtime: 40 minutes.
Tickets are free for paying Legacy Project members, or $25 for general admission. All ticket sales support CANFAR's national youth awareness program – Sexfluent.
