Otherworldly October Vegan Outing in Nyack, NY (Glitter Thicket Café) 🍂

There is no better time to visit the Hudson Valley than October. Think colourful Autumn leaves, apple cider, Chai lattés...

We will begin at Glitter Thicket in Nyack!

If you've never been to Glitter Thicket, it is a charming little vegan café and art gallery that reminds one of both Harry Potter and Alice in Wonderland. The menu is light breakfast/brunch fare as well as cakes, pastries, and coffees. And everything is vegan! Check out their menu and beautiful Instagram page below:

Date: Sunday, October 12, 2025. (Visualize a beautiful Autumn day!)
Place: Grand Central Station
Time: We will meet at the big clock at 9:50am

We will meet at Grand Central Station at 9:50am. We will take the 10:23am Croton-Harmon train to Tarrytown. You can get tickets online or at the station. An off peak ticket one way is $11.25. The train gets into Tarrytown at 11:16am. From Tarrytown we will take the HO7 bus into the town of Nyack. A single ride is $2.75 and may be purchased at the station. (This bus line does not take Metrocard or OMNY from the city.)

Larisa, the owner of Glitter Thicket, knows we are coming and has welcomed us! She is lovely and Glitter Thicket is her vision.

After brunch we can wander the town of Nyack. There are metaphysical shops, thrift stores, coffee shops, stunning views of the Hudson River, and other vegan restaurants. If we are hungry, we can choose another place to eat!

Trains back to the city are every half hour from Tarrytown, so we can choose later in the day when we wish to head back.

Everyone pays for their own train fare and meals, and everyone is responsible for looking after themselves. This is a day trip that involves a bit of travel. Please make sure you are up to it.
