Zimbabwe's biggest celebration of anime, manga, gaming, and Japanese pop culture is back. OTAKUKON Anime Festival (OKAF) 2026 brings together hundreds of fans for a full day of cosplay, competitive gaming, cultural exchange, and community — all in one venue, all in one unforgettable day.
What to Expect at OKAF 2026
🎭 Cosplay & Costume Culture
Watch (or join) Zimbabwe's most creative cosplayers bring their favourite anime, manga, and game characters to life on the main stage, with contests, photo opportunities, and a costume showcase that's become an OTAKUKON signature.
🇯🇵 Japan Culture Corner — presented with the Embassy of Japan in Zimbabwe
An expanded cultural experience this year, featuring hands-on Japanese cultural activities and an authentic onigiri-making session led by Embassy Chef Arakida — a chance to experience Japan beyond the screen.
📚 Artist Alley & Manga Booth
Browse and shop from 25+ local artists, illustrators, and merchants at the Artist Alley, including a dedicated Manga Booth Workshop featuring acclaimed comic artists Bill Masuku
🎮 Gaming Zones
Two full gaming spaces — a free-play lounge and a competitive tournament arena — covering console and PC gaming for all ages, including dedicated youth-focused gaming programming.

A welcoming space for younger fans and families, with hands-on activities, games, and entertainment designed for under-12s.

🎁 Collectible Tickets & Raffle
Every advance ticket comes with a **collectible physical ticket** and automatic entry into the OKAF raffle. Gate entry into the raffle is available for US$1 — winners must be present to claim their prize.
Who Should Come?
OKAF is built for anyone who loves anime, manga, gaming, cosplay, or Japanese pop culture — from first-time fans bringing the family, to lifelong otaku who've been there since day one. Past attendees span ages 8 to 40+, with a core community of teens and young adults aged 13–26.

All advance tickets include a collectible physical ticket and raffle entry. Prices increase as each phase closes — book early to lock in the best rate.
