Get ready to swing the night away with the Ottawa Swing Dance Society's LIVE BAND night! This is a special once-a-month event that you won't want to miss. We're thrilled to announce that the Stan Clark Orchestra, with Johnny Vegas, will be providing the live music for the evening. Get ready to be blown away by their incredible talent and energy! This is the perfect opportunity to experience the joy of swing dancing with live music. With our welcoming community and talented live band, it's sure to be a night to remember.
Whether you're a seasoned pro or brand new to swing dancing, everyone is welcome at our monthly live band night. Join us in the basement hall of St Joseph’s Parish for an evening of music, dancing, and unforgettable memories. Bring your friends along and make some new ones as we all groove to the beat of the music.
As this is a special event, we encourage everyone to dress up in their finest floral and vibrant colours to celebrate the Tulip Festival and Mothers Day!
☛ Haven’t danced before? No Problem. Our evening starts off with an hour-long beginner lesson that will get you ready for the rest of the night! No partner? No problem! We switch dance partners often during the lesson, so you'll have the opportunity to meet new people and make new friends. Lindy hop is a social dance which means we emphasize meeting people and socializing. And with 2.5 hours of social dancing to a LIVE BAND, you'll have plenty of time to show off your moves and dance the night away.
☛ To help preserve our dance floor and ensure maximum movement, we recommend bringing a pair of clean, dry, flat indoor shoes such as sneakers, flats or oxfords.
We are keeping your safety in mind, so please review our current Covid-19
protocols (below).
