Join us for our first dance of 2023 with a LIVE BAND! The Ottawa Swing Dance Society invites you to swing dance night with live music provided by Grey Jazz Big Band!We’ll be in the basement hall of St Joseph’s Parish! Everyone is welcome. Invite your friends and meet some fun new people!
We will have a 1-hour beginner lesson and live band; the Grey Jazz Big Band will kick off 2.5 hours of social dancing!
Haven’t danced before? No Problem. A 1-hour beginner lesson is included with admission ($20 cash) at the door and will get you started to dance the rest of the night. No partner is necessary. We switch dance partners often in the lesson and during the dance. Lindy hop (Swing Dance) is a social dance which means we emphasize meeting people and socializing.
Please bring a pair of clean, dry shoes for dancing. Flat indoor shoes are recommended (sneakers, flats oxford ect). Water & gatorade are available for purchase, but feel free to bring a water bottle. Please review of COVID-19 policy below.

Masks are to be worn at all times, unless you are actively drinking. We strongly recommend N95 or KN95. Masks with vents, exhalation valves, scarves or bandanas are NOT acceptable. Masks must fully cover your nose and mouth. Please do not attend our dances if you are feeling unwell.
