St Mary's College in New Oscott, Birmingham, sometimes called Oscott College, is the Roman Catholic seminary of the Archdiocese of Birmingham in England and one of two seminaries of the Catholic Church in England and Wales in England, with Allen Hall Seminary in London.
On Sunday 28th October, we will be able to visit Oscott College to gain an excellent sense of the college’s history and where it fits in the story of the Catholic Church in England, particularly its return in the Victorian era.
You will also be shown what training to be a priest in a seminary looks like today. The tour encompasses the following places:
- The glancey Library
- Pugins Museum
- The Chapel
- The entrance hall & Beeswax Landing
- The Quad
- The Refectory
The tour will be delivered by the seminarians themselves, featuring a Q&A session with them at the end of the day before ending with eucharistic adoration in the chapel.
Tickets for this will be £12. This will need to be paid before your booking is confirmed.
A coach is booked for 2:15pm and will leave from the Parish. Tickets are limited so please speak to Cathy, Sue or Cath if you are interested in joining the tour.
