IGR invites for the launch of the film "The Sephardic Jews of Brazil: their history, their heritage and the Ladino songs" which tells part of the history of the Sephardic Jews expelled from Spain and Portugal by the Catholic kings and persecuted by the Inquisition, who settled in Colonial Brazil looking for new perspectives. The saga links the culture and the history of these Jews and New Christians to the Brazilian History.Historical research by Silvia Lerner, narration and singing by Fortuna Sfadié, produced by the Embassy of Brazil in Israel and the Guimarães Rosa Tel Aviv Institute. 40 min. Subtitles in Hebrew. Free admission.
The launch video event, with the presence of the historian Silvia Lerner, will be held on February 9, at 7:30 pm, at the Guimarães Rosa Institute - Tel Aviv (Sderot Hen 57, 1st floor).
O IGR Tel Aviv convida para o lançamento e exibição do filme "Os judeus sefaraditas no Brasil: sua história, sua herança e o cancioneiro ladino" a ser realizado no dia 9 de fevereiro. O filme narra parte da história dos judeus sefaraditas expulsos da Espanha e de Portugal pelos reis católicos e perseguidos pela Inquisição que se estabeleceram no Brasil Colônia em busca de novas perspectivas. A saga une a história e a cultura desses judeus e dos cristãos-novos à história do Brasil.
Pesquisa histórica de Silvia Lerner, narração e canto de Fortuna Sfadié, realização da Embaixada do Brasil em Israel e do Instituto Guimarães Rosa Tel Aviv. Duração: 40 min. Legendas em hebraico.
O evento de lançamento do filme, que contará com a presença da historiadora Silvia Lerner, será realizado no dia 9 de fevereiro, às 19:30, no Instituto Guimarães Rosa Tel Aviv (Sderot Hen 57, 1º andar). Entrada franca.
