This month, Colleen Dieckmann will dazzle us with Metaphor Magic!Harness the power of language and imagination in your writing with metaphor magic! Pen your pages with engaging, vivid details, surprising metaphors, and insightful devices to make your writing memorable. In this session, you will expand your bounty of detail and discover magic words that work on more than one level. Together, we will identify and transform cliché into a deep and delightful wow. In this session, Coach Colleen guides us through the book of metaphor, from the mind’s eye to metaphor mastery.
Creative writer Colleen Dieckmann hails from both her native Chicago and her teen home in Kentucky. Colleen earned her Creative Writing Masters from Murray State University and studied under Lucille Clifton in the University of Memphis MFA program. She co-hosted Nashville's Pub of Love Open Mic with Beatlick Joe and was a member of the Nashville Poetry National Slam Team. Colleen has been honing her skills in Orlando as a writing editor and instructor for local schools, including UCF and Valencia College. She is now a proud graduate of the Poetry MFA program at UCF and is making final edits on her new hybrid book of poetry and essays. Learn more at authorcolleendieckmann.com.
