Allie Myers was born in Greenville, SC in 1950. Her family moved to Orlando in 1955. She spent most of her life in Orlando, having attended St. Luke’s Cathedral School and graduating from Boone High School in 1968.She graduated from Valdosta State College in 1972 with an AB degree in English. She then moved away from the area for about 20 years. She received an MA degree in Journalism from The Ohio State University.
Upon returning to Orlando, she became active in the Altrusa Club of Orlando-Winter Park and Junior League. She was employed by Westinghouse and later retired from FedEx.
She is currently retired and living in St. Cloud, FL.
ORLANDO REMEMBERED seeks to cultivate a legacy for future generations as we practice collegiality through continued life-long learning, storytelling, and fun. In addition, we provide a forum for other local historical organizations for meaningful exchange. Monthly Orlando Remembered meetings are free and open to the public. All are invited to attend.
