About this Event

C ome join us for the 2024 Hackathon!
T his is our 3nd annual hackathon and of course, there will be prizes!
A ll skill levels are welcome.
Breakfast, lunch, and snacks are included in the ticket price.
Who Should Come?
- Anyone looking to strengthen our Orlando Community by solving problems in a team setting.
- Newcomers are welcome.
- Anyone looking to learn something new.
- Anyone looking to take a full day to solve a problem they are interested in.
- Teams can be anywhere from one to six people.
Agenda [tentative]
- 8 :30 am - 9:00 am; Check-in
- 9 :00 am - 9:45 am: Opening remarks
- 9:45 am - 12:45 pm: Brainstorming and Hacking
- 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm: Lunch
- 1:30 pm - 5:15 pm: Hacking
- 5:15 pm - 6:00 pm: Demos (3 minutes per team)
- 6:00 pm - 6:45 pm: Judging + Networking
- 6:45 pm - 7:15 pm: Closing remarks & Announce winners
Code of Conduct
- Please refer to the ODevs Code of Conduct
Rules
- Github is required to be used for every commit and shared with the judges
- Projects must have been started no earlier than 9/17 and the launch of the #Hacktoberfest season.
- ODevs Hackathon Code of Conduct at all times, by treating everyone equitably and respectfully.
- All participants must be present to participate. they can leave to find a place to work, but must return.
- Any language you want to use can be used. All are welcome including UI and graphic designers.
- Any skill level is welcome; from Novice to expert.
- Teams are welcome, but you are not required to bring one. We can help you find one.
Judging
- Quality - Quality of the source code and how it runs. Does it run with few or no errors?
- Creativity/uniqueness - How novel the idea is from other solutions. Are there already well known examples of this solution?
- Problem Solving - Clarity of the problem and how it is solved. Is the solution significantly better at solving the problem than the status quo?
- Potential for impact - does this solve a challenge / meet a market need?
