What is a CI Seminarium?
Seminarium is a latin word, meaning "plant nursery" or "breeding ground". From sēmen (“seed”) + -ārium (“place for”), that is, a place for sowing the seeds of knowledge. CI is the field of Contact. Improvisation.

Who is it for?
For you! For everyone. Both experienced practitioners and newcomers are welcome; a way to create a permeable and nourishing field where we can all learn and grow together. It's a great opportunity to invite new friends to the practice.

Why Seminarium?
Contact Improvisation runs a risk to be confused with "a bunch of hippies indulging on physical touch" or a simply as a dance where we can touch each other. Yes, and more. Contact was a silent rebelion on the field of dance iniciate by Steve Paxton in 1972 and we wish to honour and celebrate this movement (which we are part of) and the ongoing research which has been expanding over the past 50 years.

What is there to learn?
So much! So much we don't know, about the practice, about our bodies, our senses, the invisible forces, about each other, about ourselves, about what's possible together.
Consider the Jam a place to practice and research, the Lab a place for embodied inquiry and knowledge exchange, a Class a place to drink from another's deep well.
