Join us for a pre-conference summit for social workers to come together toward organizing for abolition.
About this Event

We are an emerging coalition of grassroots social work organizations who see the need for social workers to build nationwide power to change the conditions in which we work. Our hope is to embolden social workers to participate in and alongside social movements struggling for freedom and safety for everyone.

At this summit we will strategize how best to organize social workers toward realizing the power necessary to enact abolitionist politics, build relationships in service of that organizing, and identify actionable steps for sustainable coalition building. Current and future social workers, and anyone who is social work adjacent are encouraged to attend.

The summit is in person only. Our intention is to strategize together and at the moment we don’t have the capacity or technology to do that hybrid. Following this in-person meeting, a virtual meeting will be scheduled to report back what was learned and next steps.

This summit is organized by the Social Work Activist Collective, the Network to Advance Abolition in Social Work, upEND, the Abolitionist Social Change Collective, and Social Work for Palestine in collaboration with the Socialism Conference and Haymarket Books.
