Join Sydney Organs for a friendly and relaxed day centred around the wonderful pipe organ at St John’s Cooks Hill.
The organ, built by the English firm J.W. Walker, is a delightful instrument with a warm and characterful sound. Remaining in near-original condition, it retains much of its original character and charm. Its beautifully voiced pipework and rich tonal palette make it a pleasure to play and hear, offering a wonderful example of nineteenth-century English organ building.
This event is as much about people as it is about the instrument. It is an opportunity for organists, church musicians, organ enthusiasts and anyone with an interest in organ music to come together, meet new people, share experiences and enjoy good conversation in a welcoming environment.
Throughout the day, attendees will have the chance to hear the organ played, listen to others perform, and simply enjoy spending time with people who share a love of organ music.
