Canadian-American organist Isabelle Demers presents a recital at St John’s College.
Demers has appeared in recital throughout Europe, Australia, New Zealand, the United States, and Canada, and is a professor at McGill University.
The programme includes Ernest MacMillan’s Cortège Académique, Elsa Barraine’s 'Prélude and Fugue in G minor', Rachel Laurin’s ‘Sweelinck Variations', Franck’s 'Symphony in D minor' (2nd movement), and a transcription of Stravinsky’s 'Firebird'.
This performance is part of the St John’s Organ Festival, showcasing the College’s extraordinary new Harrison & Harrison instrument, featuring historic ‘Father’ Willis pipework from 1889.
