As part of the Organ Music Society of Sydney's Winter Organ Festival, we welcome Alessandro Pittorino to the organ of Christ Church St Laurence. Entry by 'note' donation.
Alessandro Pittorino is widely acclaimed as “a virtuoso organist and a top-flight musician whose enthusiasm for the organ and for its artistic future is refreshing and addictive,” in a five-star review by Limelight Magazine. A graduate of Juilliard School, he completed his Master’s degree under Grammy Award–winning organist Paul Jacobs. His artistry has also been recognized internationally, with Germany’s BR-Klassik praising him as an “extraordinary organist.”
As both a soloist and collaborative artist, Pittorino has performed extensively across Australia, the United Kingdom, and the United States, earning a reputation for performances of technical brilliance, expressive depth, and stylistic versatility.
Based in Perth, Pittorino serves as Organist and Director of St Paul’s Chapel Choir at John Septimus Roe Anglican Community School, and as Leader of Performing Arts for AngliSchools (formerly Anglican Schools Commission). Beyond his work as an organist, he is an accomplished choral director and orchestral conductor, known for innovative programming and thoughtfully curated projects that bring fresh perspective and vitality to the classical canon.
A committed educator, Pittorino teaches organ at the University of Western Australia, where he mentors the next generation of musicians. His students have gone on to further study at leading international institutions, including Yale University and the University of Oxford.
