Our Summer season of organ recitals continues with a performance by the recitalist Claire Hobbs.
Claire is an organist, music therapist and educator whose studies took her from Oxford and Manchester to Geneva, where she graduated with distinction. A former organist of Bristol and Clifton Cathedrals, she has performed internationally and now combines a varied musical career with her role as Organ Curator at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery in London.
Claire’s programme is:
Andrea Gabrieli – Canzon francese detta Petit Jacquet
J. S. Bach – Prelude and Fugue in C (BWV 547)
Iain Farrington – Lay my Burden Down
- When I lay my burdens down
- Sometimes I feel like a motherless child
- Amazing Grace
- Steal Away
- Every time I feel the spirit
Coffee and cake is served from 10.30am, and the 40-minute recital begins at 11am. A large-screen projection shows all the action from the organ bench. A lovely start to your weekend!
There is a suggested donation of £5 for adults, with under 18s free of charge. We look forward to seeing you there!
