If anyone is looking for an exciting new skill to learn with a great group of people, our jousting troupe, Order of Epona, is doing winter tryouts for the 2026 season! ⚔️ We are looking for people interested in ground fighting (live steel sword fighting) as well as people interested in riding (jousting interest or just mounted medieval games, preference given to those with their own horse). We provide all the training for the ground fighting and you don’t have to have any previous experience (just the willingness to learn!).
Commitment involves two practices a week (usually Thursday evenings and Sunday mornings), and being able to travel to shows throughout the year (usually Friday-Monday since we drive out of state). Lodging is provided for shows.
Not a paid thing, but you get free training, shared tips from performances, and free entrance into some super awesome ren faires!
Must be 21+ and physically fit. No drama. We have a diverse group and expect everyone to be respectful, willing to learn, and work well in a group.
Tryouts are going to be on Thursday, November 20th at 6pm (if you can’t make that evening, we can arrange a different time as well, likely on a Sunday practice time). It’s in North Fort Collins, the address is 7300 N County Road 15, Fort Collins, CO, 80524. Make sure you use Google Maps or Apple Maps, Waze takes you to a different place! Wear clothes you can move in, closed toed shoes, and bring gloves (work gloves are fine).
IMPORTANT - if you are an interested rider WITH a horse, please PM me directly!!! We will be having a separate tryout for riders on Sunday 11/23 at 10:00am where you can haul in! This date is also available for anyone not able to make the 20th.
