We are excited to welcome Erica Reid, the Artist-in-Residence in the Visual Arts, Music & Theater Program at Adams State University for October 4th-24th.
Erica Reid is the author of Ghost Man on Second, winner of the Donald Justice Poetry Prize (Autumn House Press). Erica’s poems appear in Rattle, Cherry Tree, Colorado Review, and more, and she is the recipient of a 2025 Pushcart Prize.
We're lucky to have Erica Reid in the San Luis Valley as an artist in residence at Adams State University. She's stepping away from the campus to offer a free writing workshop at the Narrow Gauge Book Cooperative.
The poetry workshop, Orchids, Orchids, Orchids: Repetition as Revolution will be guided by poems from Kaveh Akbar, Wendy Videlock, A. E. Stallings, Danez Smith, and more. This class examines the ways that the repetition of a single word can have a cumulative and explosive effect on a poem.
Please RSVP by clicking "tickets" and filling out the form, and come prepared with writing materials - paper and pencil/pen will be best.
