Orchard planting at Diehl Elementary School, 2327 Fairmount Parkway - Thursday, October 10, 10:00 a.m.—2:00 p.m. Our final 75th anniversary outreach project will be helping to plant a fruit orchard on the grounds of Diehl Elementary School. We are collaborating with ReLeaf, an initiative of the Lake Erie Arboretum at Frontier Park. ReLeaf’s goal is to plant 275,000 trees in Erie County—one for each citizen—in order to positively impact the threat of climate change. They are providing the trees, mulch, and fertilizer. Some of the 4th and 5th graders will help with the planting, along with volunteers from Faith and ReLeaf. Plan on bringing a shovel and work gloves. Please sign up on the sheet in the narthex by October 6 or let Pastor Jean know if you are able to participate. A rain date will be scheduled if needed.
