Join us on September 30th as we march for the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, also known as Orange Shirt Day. This day is dedicated to honoring the survivors of residential schools, their families, and communities, and to remember those who did not make it home.
Orange Shirt Day was inspired by the story of Phyllis Webstad, a Northern Secwepemc (Shuswap) woman, who had her new orange shirt taken away on her first day at a residential school. This day symbolizes the stripping away of culture, freedom, and self-esteem experienced by Indigenous children over generations.
