About this Event
In recognition of Oral Health Month, join us for the Oral Health & Menopause: Lunch & Learn, an interactive session exploring how menopause-related hormonal changes can affect the mouth, teeth, gums, overall health, and quality of life.
Please note: This event is open to dental, medical, behavioral health, and community health professionals, including residents and students, who want to better support patients during menopause.
Hosted in partnership with the UConn Health Disparities Institute (HDI), the UConn School of Dental Medicine (SODM), the Connecticut Oral Health Initiative (COHI), and Delta Dental, this session will bring together clinical insights, lived experiences, and practical strategies for patient care.
Delta Dental will share insights on its commitment to oral health equity and why menopause is a priority. The session will highlight key data, lived experiences, awareness gaps, unmet needs, and introduce a special edition of The (M) Factor documentary.
The session aims to:
- Increase awareness of oral health changes during menopause
- Explore clinical implications and patient experiences
- Identify opportunities for provider education, interdisciplinary collaboration, and systems-level change
This event is part of HDI's Menopause Equity Initiative (MEI), a community-led statewide effort advancing awareness, education, research, and equitable access to menopause and midlife care.
Lunch will be provided. Registration is free but required.
Continuing education credits (CEs) will be available for eligible participants.
This program will be delivered in English.
