About this Event

We are so excited and have some Great News to share! In 2022, Operation Uplift, Inc. will be celebrating 54 years of providing community service to the Proviso Township area. As such, we would like you to share with us as we celebrate the legacy of Dr. King and honor our community’s high achievers.
You are warmly invited to follow the crowd to our 33rd Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration and Community Awards Fundraiser Event “REMAINING AWAKE AND STEADFAST THOUGH A GREAT REVOLUTION,” on Saturday, April 2, 2022, at the Diplomat West Banquet Hall in Elmhurst, IL. 60126.
This major fundraiser will be dedicated to the memory of two of our organization’s Fallen Pillars: Mrs. Mattie Robinson and Mrs. Jean Wheeler both taken away from us as a result of the COVID-19 Pandemic. This event will also memorialize ALL Proviso Township residents who were lost to this dreadful pandemic but, have not been forgotten.
This event will garner financial support for Operation Uplift, Inc. and It's West Town Museum of Cultural History which has provided 54 years of job training and historic preservation services to low and medium income, unemployed and untrained youths, and adults of the Proviso Township villages.
At this star-studded event, you will join in and remember the great passion of Dr. King’s life. This year’s keynote speaker will be the dynamic Rev. Dr. Jean Porter King, Renowned Author/Speaker, and Inspirational Coach.
