Operating Theatres & Medirooms “Open Doors” - North Bristol NHS Trust

Would you like to work in the Operating Theatres & Medirooms but don’t think you have the right qualifications?

North Bristol NHT Trust Operating Theatres & Medirooms Team are giving people a rare opportunity to get a behind-the-scenes look at their Operating Theatres & Medirooms. We are a regional center for a number of exciting specialties including: neuro & spinal, plastics & burns, elective orthopedic, robot surgery, vascular surgery, G.I and gynecology and trauma surgery. The event will include interactive sessions and an opportunity to chat to existing theatre staff of all grades, who will explain their roles and how we care for patients who are having an operation.

Visitors will see how staff prepare for a procedure, learn about the specialist equipment used in the Operating Theatres & Medirooms, try out their airway management skills on our mannequins and can even have go scrubbing up and gowning.

There will also be an area dedicated to encouraging 'Future Recruits' where people can learn about the educational and career opportunities available in our Operating Theatres & Medirooms and get advice from the experts.

The Open Day is free, and refreshments will be provided, but as there is only limited space, we are asking people to sign up for one of our two sessions via eventbrite.

On the day of the event, some of our Operating Theatres & Medirooms (in a different part of the building) will remain in use; we will ensure that visitors to the event are restricted from areas where there are patients for their own health and safety and for the safety and confidentiality of the patients.

North Bristol NHT Trust is a Major Trauma Centre and if there is a need to make other Operating Theatres & Medirooms available, the event may need to be cancelled and visitors may be asked to leave at very short notice.

Tours starting at 10:00, 11:00, 12:00 & 13:00 14:00, choose a start time to suit you. We have limited availability for each tour. We will ask your preference, however if we are unable to accommodate, we will be in touch to book a different time slot.
