Performances of Viktor Ullmann’s "Der Kaiser von Atlantis," a parable composed in the Terezín concentration camp in 1943 that tells the story of a paranoid totalitarian emperor who wages war with such a passion that even Death decides to take a stand against him, and Nico Muhly’s "Dark Sisters," which follows one woman’s dangerous attempt to escape her life as a member of a splinter group of the FLDS Church (Fundamentalist Latter Day Saints).
