SSE Hydro raises the curtain for a scintillating opera gala evening featuring José Carreras!

Legendary tenor José Carreras is special guest at a memorable and breathtaking gala evening at the Opera d’Amore show on May 25th 2022 at the SSE HYDRO!
Opera D’Amore is an opera gala performance that combines individual scenes from Rigoletto, Cavalleria Rusticana, Carmen, Tosca, Pagliacci, La Bohème and La Traviata. The spectacle tells the magical stories of the heritage of world opera viewed through the prism of love.
A splendid stroll in the presence of much-loved opera characters through the musical genius of Verdi, Puccini, Bizet, Mascagni, Donizetti and Leoncavallo, performed by some of the greatest opera voices of our time, led by world-renowned tenor José Carreras.
Also appearing on stage with him will be:

Maria Guleghina (soprano) - star of the Metropolitan in New York,
Mаrco Berti – Tenor of La Scala,
José Bros (tenor) - considered one of the leading romantic bel canto tenors of recent years,
Nadya Krasteva - mezzo-soprano. Krasteva made her Royal Opera House debut in the 2017/18 season, as Maddalena in Verdi's Rigoletto,
Kiril Manolov - baritone with an international career performing leading roles in opera houses and opera festivals in Europe, US and Japan.
Ilina Mihaylova – a promising young soprano

The choir of Sofia opera and ballet
The show combines 13 of the most popular love scenes from seven different operas. They will unfurl before your eyes on the stage of the SSE HYDRO, accompanied by the Sofia Opera and Ballet Orchestra, conducted by a maestro conductor David Giménez.
The show Opera d’Amore is a veritable celebration of LOVE and MUSIC that will remain in the hearts of the audience till the burns of time run dry!
