Join us for our Interactive Gallery Kiosk Displays Opening Reception on Friday, September the 12th! From 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. enjoy complimentary hors d'oeuvres, wine, and beverages while viewing the museum’s new state-of-the-art visitor engagement experience! This summer, a team of volunteers have been hard at work to bring members and the general public an enhanced way of interacting with the museum's artifacts.
Static placards to explain an artifact on display, once defined the museum experience. Today, digital kiosks serve as gateways to cultural institutions worldwide. The kiosks provide information about each artifact, as well as interesting background information. They also improve accessibility by offering multilingual support and features for visitors with special needs. Each kiosk offers the material in English, Spanish, and German.
VVAC has currently deployed two interactive kiosks, that are located in the Ceramics Gallery: Pottery of the Verde Valley and one in the Indigenous Cosmology and Astronomy Gallery. Please note, a kiosk for the Domestic Life: Dyck Cliff Dwelling Gallery is currently underway.
A special thank you to key donors that so generously sponsored the kiosks. The goal is to offer a digital kiosk experience in all of our galleries, as funding permits. Also, many thanks to our kiosk team of talented volunteers that have made great contributions towards enhancing the visitor experience.
