นิทรรศการ “จะร่วงหล่นเพื่อหวนคืน” โดย นรภัทร ศักดิ์อาธรทรัพย์

ทำไมกล้วยไม้สายพันธุ์หนึ่งที่เคยผลักดันเศรษฐกิจไทยมานานหลายทศวรรษ ถึงเลือนหายไปจากตลาด?
และทำไมศิลปินถึงยอมใช้เวลาหลายปีเพื่อตามหามัน ทั้งในแปลงปลูก ไปจนถึงความทรงจำเควียร์ส่วนบุคคล?
“จะร่วงหล่นเพื่อหวนคืน” คือการเดินทางอันยาวนานของ นรภัทร ศักดิ์อาธรทรัพย์ ที่เริ่มต้นจากความหลงใหลในกล้วยไม้ตั้งแต่วัยเด็ก จนนำพามาสู่การตามรอยกล้วยไม้ “ปอมปาดัวร์” สายพันธุ์ที่เคยทำให้ไทยก้าวสู่เวทีโลก แต่กลับถูกเศรษฐกิจ ความต้องการตลาด และอัตลักษณ์แบบใหม่ของชาติค่อยๆ กลืนให้เลือนหายไป
จากภาพคนงานขนน้ำหนักของความหวังเข้า–ออกโรงเรือนตรงข้ามบ้าน สู่คำถามใหญ่เรื่องอำนาจ มาตรฐานความงาม และสิ่งที่สังคมเลือกจะจดจำหรือปล่อยให้เลือนหาย
ภัณฑารักษ์ พอใจ อัครธนกุล ร่วมต่อยอดการค้นคว้านี้ให้กลายเป็นนิทรรศการที่พาเราผ่านภูมิทัศน์สองโลก โลกของ “ปอมปาดัวร์” กล้วยไม้ที่ครั้งหนึ่งเคยยกฐานะประเทศไทยในตลาดโลก แต่วันนี้กลับเลือนหายไปอย่างไร้คำอธิบาย และโลกของ “โซเนีย” สายพันธุ์ที่เติบโตจากความต้องการของทุนนิยม จนกลายเป็น “ภาพจำแบบเดียว” ที่แทบจะทับเสียงอื่นให้เงียบลง ซึ่งจะนำเราเข้าสู่คำถามเรื่องอำนาจ ลัทธิล่าอาณานิคม และกระบวนการทำให้ทุกอย่าง “เหมือนกันหมด” ทั้งกับกล้วยไม้…และกับมนุษย์
ปอมปาดัวร์กลับมาปรากฏในนิทรรศการนี้ในฐานะความทรงจำที่ทั้งเร้าใจและเจ็บปวด กลีบดอกที่เหมือนผิวหนังมนุษย์ ชั้นกระดาษโปร่งใสบรรจุคำสารภาพที่ศิลปินไม่เคยพูดให้ใครฟัง ประติมากรรมทองคำที่สร้างขึ้นจากเพียงคำบอกเล่า การระลึกถึง และภาพถ่ายใบเดียว งานทุกชิ้นเหมือนการค่อยๆ ขุดชิ้นส่วนตัวตนที่เคยหล่นหาย…ให้หวนคืนอีกครั้ง
ในอีกฟากหนึ่งคือ “โซเนีย” สายพันธุ์ที่ครองตลาดทุกวันนี้ เหมือนภาพโฆษณาที่ขาย “ความสมบูรณ์แบบ” ซ้ำไปซ้ำมา และศิลปะจัดวางที่เชิญให้ผู้ชม “ตั้งราคา” ดอกไม้ด้วยตนเอง เพื่อให้เราได้เผชิญหน้ากับคำถามง่ายๆ ที่ตอบยากที่สุด “อะไรกันแน่ที่ทำให้สิ่งหนึ่งมีคุณค่า?" เหมือนกระจกสะท้อนโลกทุนนิยมที่นิยามคุณค่าจากความต้องการ ไม่ใช่ “ความหมาย”
ในที่สุด กล้วยไม้ทั้งสองสายพันธุ์จึงกลายเป็นกระจกสะท้อนชีวิตเรา ความคลุมเครือ การต่อรองตัวตน ความเงียบที่ซ่อนอยู่ใต้เปลือกนอกที่สังคมยอมรับ และคำถามว่ามนุษย์มีสิทธิ์แค่ไหนในการกำหนดการอยู่รอดของสิ่งมีชีวิตอื่น…รวมถึงตัวเราเอง
นี่ไม่ใช่เพียงนิทรรศการเกี่ยวกับดอกไม้ แต่เป็นการชวนเรามองกลับไปที่สิ่งที่เราปล่อยให้ร่วงหล่น และตั้งคำถามว่าอะไรควร “หวนคืน”

Why did an orchid that once fuelled Thailand’s economy for decades disappear from the market?
And why would an artist devote years to searching for it, from orchid farms to the recesses of his own queer memory?
“To fall from grace” traces the long journey of Naraphat Sakarthornsap, whose fascination with orchids eventually led him to the elusive “Pompadour”. This once celebrated hybrid placed Thailand on the global stage, yet was gradually eclipsed by economic pressures, market demand, and the crafting of new national identities.
What began as scenes of workers carrying the weight of hope in and out of the greenhouses opposite his home has grown into larger questions about power, standards of beauty, and the things society chooses to remember or allow to fade.
Curator Pojai Akratanakul extends this research into an exhibition that guides viewers through two intertwined landscapes. One is the world of the Pompadour, a hybrid that once elevated Thailand in the global orchid market but has now all but vanished without explanation.
The other is the world of the Sonia, a commercially driven hybrid born from the needs of capitalism and amplified to such dominance that it overshadows every other voice. Together they open questions about power, colonial legacies, and the systems that render everything uniform whether orchids or human beings.
In this exhibition the Pompadour returns as a memory that is both compelling and painful. Petals photographed to resemble human skin, translucent pages holding confessions the artist has never spoken aloud, and a gold sculpture created from nothing more than recollection and a single photograph all function as acts of excavation retrieving fragments of a self that once slipped away.
On the opposite side the Sonia reigns as the hybrid that dominates the market today. Its images resemble advertisements that repeat ideals of perfection, while a participatory installation invites visitors to assign their own price to a potted orchid. This encounter leads us to the most difficult question of all: what truly gives something its value? It becomes a mirror of a capitalist world that generates worth through demand rather than meaning.
Ultimately the two orchids mirror our own lives. Ambiguity, negotiation of self, the quietness hidden beneath socially accepted surfaces, and the question of how much authority humans possess in determining the survival of other living beings including ourselves.
This is not simply an exhibition about flowers. It is an invitation to look again at the things we have allowed to fall away and to ask what deserves to return.
