Opening Night of Yarta by Iteka Ukarla
Join us for the opening night of Yarta and hear from Iteka about her exhibition.
About this Event

Iteka Ukarla is a young Adnyamathanha, Narungga and Yarluyandi woman. This exhibition ‘Yarta’, meaning country/land in Adnyamathanha language from the Flinders Ranges, captures the significance of Country to Aboriginal people and Aboriginal culture.

‘Yarta’ includes mixed media, acrylic on canvas and an installation of elements of country that relate the importance of Country and connection to land, and the stories, resilience and cultural knowledge that have been passed on through generations.

After the opening we will continue to a nearby bar to celebrate the exhibition.
