Opening Night: New World
Led by Music Director Mélisse Brunet, the evening begins at 7:30PM with Clarice Assad’s "Baião 'n Blues", juxtaposing the lively rhythms of Brazil with the soulful essence of American blues. Then, Lexington-native Ania Lewis returns to the Bluegrass for Edward Elgar’s Cello Concerto. Finally, Opening Night comes to a resounding close with Antonín Dvořák’s inspiring Symphony No. 9 “From the New World”.
