Opening Night Double Feature: Unraveling George & Open Book

Join us to kick off the first ever double feature at Opening Night of the 6th Annual NYU Sports Film Festival! Two new feature documentary films will be screened — to start the evening: Unraveling George, a Mike Tollin production (The Last Dance, Coach Carter, The Dream Team); and to cap off the night:Open Book: The Scandal That Shook Up College Basketball, a new film by Fresh Focus Sports.

Both screenings will be followed by moments with the important people that went into the making of both films. See more about each film in the agenda below!

Info: “Unraveling George” introduces a beloved and hugely admired but mostly anonymous man to the world. Narrated by Marlon Wayans, who plays George in the celebrated movie AIR, this documentary traces the remarkable journey of Hall of Fame basketball coach George Raveling, who considers himself more of a teacher and a mentor than a coach. Raveling has guided the careers of a stunning array of all-stars in his decorated career, and the extraordinary cast in the film is testament to Raveling’s enormous influence.
