'Maid, Mother, Monster' er en ny gruppeudstilling kurateret af DÍSIR på ODP3 med værker af Essi Maaria Orpana, Charlotte Wiig, Kukka-Maria Rosenlund, Henriette Ebbesen, Marie Wengler, Linda Hansen og Nina Worren.
Udstillingen undersøger kvindelige arketyper, der gennem århundreder har præget (kunst)historie: ‘the maid’ (genkendelig i myter som Leda, Europa og Ophelia), ‘the mother’ (formet gennem fortællinger om Jomfru Maria/Madonnaen), og ‘the monstrous’ (legemliggjort i skikkelser som Lilith, Medusa og heksen). I udstillingen anskues disse arketyper både som mytologiske figurer og som socialt og kulturelt konstruerede kategorier.
Via forskellige fotografiske praksisser undersøger udstillingens kunstnere, hvordan disse arketyper fortsat (re)producers i vores kollektive bevidsthed, sociale strukturer og visuelle kultur – samtidig med at de udfordrer, gentænker og genfortolker dem i en nutidig kontekst.
Udstillingensåbningen foregår d. 10. juni 2026 i samarbejde med Sammenflëtninger, en anden nordisk, fotografisk-baseret kunstnergruppe. Der vil være drinks, musik og højt humør, så tag din ven(inde) under armen – og hjælp os med til at rykke ved arketyperne!

Maid, Mother, Monster is a group exhibition curated by DÍSIR at ODP3, featuring works by Essi Maaria Orpana, Charlotte Wiig, Kukka-Maria Rosenlund, Henriette Ebbesen, Marie Wengler, Linda Hansen og Nina Worren.
The exhibition examines enduring female archetypes that have shaped (art) history for centuries: the maiden (as reflected in myths of Leda, Europa, or Ophelia), the mother (as seen in the narratives of the Virgin Mary/Madonna), and the monstrous (embodied by figures such as Lilith, Medusa, or the witch). These archetypes are approached both as mythological figures and as socially constructed categories.
Through diverse photographic practices, the participating artists investigate how these archetypes persist within collective consciousness, social structures, and visual culture, while simultaneously being questioned, reimagined, and reinterpreted in contemporary contexts.
The exhibition opening takes place on June 10, 2026, in collaboration with Sammenflëtninger, another Nordic, photography-based artist collective. There will be drinks, music, and a great atmosphere – so bring a friend and join us in challenging the archetypes!
