About this Event
Join us on Sunday, March 22, 2026, for the opening event of Bronx Boys: Storytelling with a Lens, a special morning of conversation and reflection celebrating the life and work of photographers Morton Broffman and Jules Aarons. The program begins at 10:00 AM with bagels and coffee, followed by a 10:30 AM lecture and audience Q&A.
Bob Yellowlees will introduce Julian Cox, Deputy Director and Chief Curator of the Art Gallery of Ontario, and Neal Broffman, filmmaker and son of Morton Broffman. Cox, who first became familiar with Broffman’s work while serving as Curator of Photography at the High Museum of Art, will discuss the exhibition and the street photography of Aarons and Broffman. Together with Neal Broffman, he will offer an in-depth exploration of Broffman’s life and legacy. The morning concludes with an 11:30 AM exhibition tour.
