About this Event

The opening exhibition "The Start of Something" is a survey of millennial/zillennial artists with ties to Atlanta, at a pivotal moment in their trajectory. In short, this pivotal moment puts early career artists in the midst of the city's rapidly changing landscape into context. As a whole, the exhibit cites the rise and fall of old and new art institutions, and even gives a nod to legacy spaces and new experimental models.

Participating artists: Stephanie Brown; Demetri Burke; Chrissy Brimmage; Jurell Cayetano; Ariel Dannielle; Trey Dowell; Sayma Hossain; Honey Pierre; Ellex Swavoni; Jasmine Nicole Williams

One Contemporary is a curator-led space, that emphasizes the importance of contemporary narratives and artists' intent. Amplifying its sector of Atlanta’s downtown as a more prominent art district–One Contemporary is joining The Sun ATL, Atlanta Center for Photography, aKAZI at Haugabrooks, September Grey Gallery, Whitespace and others to offer a broader range of visual art experiences.
