Orbits of existence is Victoria Lauria 's first solo exhibition at Galería Mar Dulce . It features a series of 40 works in techniques including watercolour, acrylic, photographic collage, and object-installation.
"We automatically inhabit a public space that seems foreign to us, but it isn't. A square, a street, a beach, a space where we are all just another agent. We are part of a common space where the beauty of bodies, gestures, and contact abounds, even though time doesn't allow us to see it, nor to feel it."
The work seeks to stop time and immortalize it. To make a slice of reality live forever, a tear of nostalgia for a detail of daily life that, otherwise, would simply pass by. A gaze that makes the moment infinite and borrows those people from the stage of everyday life, transforming them into collectible figures. They are placed in an eternal white, where their mere presence acquires absolute value. Small figures observed closely, in detail, seeking to delve into their inner world: What are they thinking? What were they doing a few moments ago? Where are they going? What are they talking about? What do you feel?
In that miniature they become, the colours, shapes, poses, customs, and stories behind them take on a new dimension. There is only observation and a space of silence that could be filled with countless questions and countless answers.
Time runs, peels away , tears apart, and we grasp its pieces, reconstructing it through subtleties, through the magic hidden in the beauty of everyday life.
Victoria Lauria was born in Buenos Aires in 1988. She studied Art Direction and Costume Design at the Universidad del Cine and worked in film and advertising. She then continued her studies in Industrial Design at UNLa . She participated in a workshop with Marta Calí, attended Fernanda Kusel 's painting workshop and was part of Leila Tschopp 's Process Lab in 2022 and 2025.
In 2021 she was selected for the Argentine Visual Arts Award OSDE (4th Edition), won the 3rd Acquisition Prize of the XVI National Visual Arts Salon of Junín, and in 2022 received a Jury Mention in the XLIX Prize of the National Visual Arts Salon of Tandil.
Her design vision, influenced by photography and cinematic observation, allows her to see the world from diverse angles and scales. Watercolour has been a constant companion for many years, as have miniatures and the world in miniature. She collects figures and characters based on photographs she takes during her daily walks.
Galería Mar Dulce specializes in small and medium-format works of painting, drawing, printmaking, artists' books, and objects by classic and contemporary Argentine artists. Alongside the main exhibition we present +COLLECTIVE95, a selection of works by other artists from the gallery and guests.
