Suggested Donation: $10.00 - $20.00 The Tibetan Monks of Gaden Shartse monastery will perform the cleansing and blessing ceremony in preparation for the daily work on the sand mandala. The sand mandala is laid down one grain of sand at a time.
Offered for the first time in Placerville, the Wheel of Life is a complex visual presentation of many Buddhist teachings. It depicts the cycle of existance, or samsara, with an emphasis on the cycle of birth, death, rebirth and the teachings of karma, ignorance, and suffering.
This event is part of the Sacred Earth & Healing Arts of Tibet Tour offered by the Tibetian Buddhist Monks of Gaden Shartse Monastic University. See them at El Dorado Federated Church, 1051 Thompson Wy, Placerville CA
All proceeds benefit the monastery.
