Open Studio

Please join us to our second Open Studio of the 2024 PMRCAA residency season on May 9th, 2024 from 4-6p.m.!

In this Open Studio you will learn about the three residents' practices and what they have accomplished while they were at PMRCAA.

Presenters for this Open Studio include scientist Minal Mistry, quilter Guiseppe Ribaudo, and multidisciplinary artist Esperanza Cortes.

Presentations are in Pine Meadow Ranch's new Classroom.

This event is free and open to the public. Space is limited so registration is required.

More information on the artists:

Minal Mistry (he/him) is a biologist/scientist working in the industrial sustainability arena, with an emphasis on the impacts of material production and consumption upon the living Earth. His focus area is at the intersections of environmental, ecological and social justice. His art has evolved from those intersections, primarily as sculpture and writing.

Giuseppe Ribaudo aka Giucy Giuce (he/him) is an avid modern traditionalist quilter. Residing in Queens just outside of Manhattan, he spends his time designing fabric for NYC-based Andover Fabrics, writing quilt patterns, and teaching different quilting techniques. Most of his work utilizes various foundation paper piecing methods.

Esperanza Cortés (she/her) is a Colombian-born multidisciplinary artist based in NYC. Exhibitions include: USA, Germany, Hungary, Slovakia, Poland, Japan, Spain, Greece, Mexico, Colombia, and the Dominican Republic. Awards include: Guggenheim Foundation, Joan Mitchell Foundation, NYSCA, NYFA, LMCC. Residencies include: Ucross, Caldera, Joan Mitchell Center.
