About this Event
You have asked and we are so excited to announce our newest slow fashion workshop, OPEN SEWING STUDIO HOURS - for moderate to advanced sewists - 2.5 hours in our studio every other Tuesday.
How it works:
- You bring your own project
- Bring your own machine or use ours
- 2.5 hours of access to our sewing studio which included machines, tools, fabric scraps, and sewing workstations
- You will have access to our workshop leader, Louise, for any questions, concerns, support and help on your project
- Meet other sewists & build a network of sewing knowledge
*We cannot guarantee that our workshop leader will know everything about completing your projevt but, we will try our hardest to help you to work on your projects and overcome any sewing hardships/questions.
Who you are: Someone with moderate to advanced sewing skills This is not a beginners course, if you do not know how to sew please sign up for our Sewing 101: Beginners Sewing Course course before joining this workshop.
Class Structure: This is like open office hours but for sewing! You will have 2.5 hours to work on your projects in the studio and access during that time to ask questions and get help from our teacher, Louise. Please be mindful that there will be 5 total people working on projects and we want to give the same attention to all attendees.
Ideas for Types of Projects You Should Bring (this is not limited, just to inspire you):
- Alterations (hemming, waist alterations, lengthening, shortening, making smaller, making bigger)
- Mending and repairs (holes, patches, zippers, seam repairs, vintage clothing)
- Fitting assistance
- Help making clothing and bags from scratch
- Pattern work
- Machine help
- Design & sewing process advice and insight (perfect for designers)
A ticket must be purchased for every class you want to attend. Come one, come time, the studio is yours!

With over 15 years of extensive experience in factory settings, Louise is well-versed in industrial sewing and manufacturing, consistently delivering professional and enduring results.
