As our congregation, city, and country mourn the loss of President Jimmy Carter, you are invited to remember his life and legacy at The First Baptist Church of the City of Washington, just blocks away from the White House. First Baptist is the church where President Carter and his family worshiped while he was in office.
Our doors will be open for prayer and reflection on Monday, January 6 – Thursday, January 9 from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm. During this time, you will be able to hear recordings of the lessons President Carter taught while in office. You will also be able to visit the pew where he and his family worshiped as well as see the space where he taught Sunday School.
