Open Rehearsals for 'three billion letters' (working title)

TAKDAJA is developing a new performance project exploring faulty genes and identity. Three Billion Letters (working title) encounters a group of artists taking their DNA tests and utilising the results as raw material for developing a live theatrical piece.

“We are running an open and flexible rehearsal room and would like to invite anyone wishing to take part in our process (actively or passively) to join us. We will be training our bodies and imagination before working on responses to genetic findings, exploring scenes and dramaturgy within the piece.”

TAKDAJA is an alternative, interdisciplinary theatre company that brings together international artists to create visually stunning productions using devising techniques that challenge traditional narratives. Non-conformist and imaginative, TAKDAJA's performances push the boundaries of theatre, offering audiences a unique and diverse experience. They incorporate various techniques from individual training backgrounds such as psychophysical theatre (Odin Teatret, Grotowski, Michael Chekhov, Suzuki, Viewpoints), clowning (Wright, DeCastro, Sobal, Hopkins), improv (Groundlings, Improv Olympics, UCB), and science.

These open rehearsals are part of the wider engagement program for TAKDAJA's new performance: 'Three Billion Letters (working title)' funded by Arts Council England.
