Do you miss playing your instrument? Or want to give it a try for the first time in years, surrounded by a supportive community? The New Horizons Band is perfect for woodwind, brass, and percussion players of all ages and skill levels. Come join the open music rehearsal to see what it is like. We are about to start sightreading new music to prepare for our Christmas concerts in December.
If you have been looking for a musical outlet, this is a perfect, no-strings-attached way to check it out and see if you would like to join this fun and welcoming ensemble. If you know someone else who may be interested, be sure to invite them! Many of our current members had not played their instrument for decades (40 or 50 years for some) and rediscovered their love of playing band music with New Horizons. Some of our members had never even played an instrument before joining the group! We perform throughout the community, have a lot of fun, and make new friends in the process!
The New Horizons Band of Sioux City rehearses on Thursdays from 4:00-5:15 PM at Redeemer Lutheran Church (3204 S. Lakeport St). Each year, we play 15-20 concerts showcasing a wide variety of music, including marches, patriotic music, pop, musicals, and jazz.
