FUFON RAINBOW COMMITTEE-pflag NANAIMO OPEN MIC NIGHT
The First Unitarian Fellowship of Nanaimo's Rainbow Committee and pflag Nanaimo are co-hosting an Open Mic Night at the Unitarian hall (595 Townsite Road) on Wednesday, October 7th (6:00-8:00 pm, doors open 5:30 pm). See the attached poster.
We invite those interested to read a poem or short story, sing a song, or play a musical instrument for up to five minutes. A sign-up sheet will be available at the hall on the day of the event: first come, first served. Free pizza, snacks and non-alcoholic drinks will be provided.
Everyone is welcome to join us for a fun, family-friendly event. We extend a special invitation to Rainbow community members and our family, friends and allies, and to Indigenous people and their families, friends and allies. (Please note that youth under 16 must be accompanied by a caring adult.)
Accessibility:
Mobility:
The venue is mostly wheelchair accessible. There are no automatic push-button openers but both front doors can be opened to allow for wide-clearance. There are no steps or ramps at the front entrance.
Restrooms:
There are 4 gender-neutral restrooms. One is wheelchair accessible.
Quiet Space:
There will be a designated quiet room for those that need a moment away from the activity.
Parking and Transit:
There is a large lot on-site with accessible parking spots located closest to the front doors. For those using transit, Bus Route #72 stops right by the hall, near Millstone Avenue.
