Spoken word open mic is a monthly community event featuring poetry and short prose, held inside the peregrine at the back stage. Bring your friends and your scribbled musings.
Mark Dailey is a professor, cultural anthropologist, poet, family man, and former goat keeper. After spending most of his life “back east” in West Virginia, Maine, and Vermont, he moved to Prescott in 2019, where he currently teaches in Prescott College’s Environmental Humanities program. He focused on haiku writing for 10 years, publishing widely in journals such as Modern Haiku, Frogpond, Heron’s Nest, and Acorn; his haiku have also been included in several anthologies. In recent years, he has turned his efforts to free verse. Inspired by classical Chinese poetry on one hand, and by the Romantics and Beats on the other, his poems often combine tones of wistfulness and humor.
