Open Mic Concert Series Feat PEGGI BLU benefiting Music Rx

Born in Lumberton North Carolina,She began singing at the early age of 3. She relocated to New York where her professional career began after she joined her Uncle's Choir.

Later in life. she joined the Gospel Starlets where she sang the solo recorded on Hob Record Label’s “Trying To Reach Our Heavenly Home” and so on. Peggi also sang on the Tony award-winning Broadway hit play “Bubbling Brown Sugar“. Although it was not a gospel play, she brought her gospel flavor to it. She then gave the same flavor to her roles in “Tilt“, “Apollo Just Like Magic”, “Beehive”, “Three Ladies of Blues“, “Wild Women Blues”, “Sunshine Train” and on into the Broadway and National Company hit musical “The Wiz” in the roles of Auntie Em and Ms. Glinda.
