Come out to our 16th open mic featuring Todd Kowaluk!! Tickets are PWYC/by donations. As always, no one will be turned away due to lack of funds. ABOUT THE ARTIST:
As a singer, songwriter, guitarist, and percussionist, Canadian born Todd Kowaluk expresses Love, Loss, Faith, Fierceness, and Hope in these troubled times. Whether it be from his fluid vocal style or his honest reflections within these compositions, Kowaluk conjures a unique blend of pop, rock and folk and has developed a sound and style uniquely his own.
His EP “Love Can Set Us Free” released in 2018 was recorded in Vancouver at Lucky Dog Studios with producer Manny Alviar.
The title track was nominated and won an Award for “Best Pop Demo” in 2017 at the IMC’s Award held in Hollywood California.
His New Single LOVE SONG Dropping later this Summer is the first of several releases coming out over the course of the next year. Kowaluk notes, LOVE SONG was written more than 20 years ago and the song and message still ring as true for me today as it did back then all those years ago… Something old is new again... it communicates what is still true in my heart 20 plus years later and that makes me smile somehow. This new approach to recording with a full band playing live off the floor is a bit of a departure from some of my previous experiences in the studio working mostly with a producer and tracking. A BIG Thank You goes out to Steve Dawson for including me in his first ever Hen House Pop up sessions here in Vancouver at the Warehouse Studios in Gastown.
"It was a great experience for me as I am a Singer/Songwriter and have limited experience playing with a band, let alone this band of World Class player including Steve Dawson on Guitar and Slide guitar, Darryl Havers on keys, Jeremy Holmes on bass, and Liam Macdonald on drums, with Sheldon Zaharko engineering. It was quite an experience and I have to say I am absolutely thrilled with the results !! In fact so thrilled that I have booked more time in October of this year to record 3 new songs. Included with this New Version of Love Song coming out later this Summer will be a Music Video of yours truly with the band recorded during that session back in April. I am quite excited to be sharing all this with you in the not so distant future and will be working closely with Liberty Music PR on a promotion campaign throughout the summer. Coming to a playlist near you!!"
