Bring your favorite pens, inks and markers and get ready to nudge the scales of the nation toward democracy while catching up with friends (or making some new ones). We have 200 postcards to write! But each one is quick, so if you're a slacktivist looking for a 10-minute activity to feel good about, this is an event for you too. The postcards are from turnoutpac.org, and will be mailed to Democrats (mostly in swing states) in an attempt to get out the vote. Conclusions about the effectiveness of postcards can be found at https://turnoutpac.org/postcards-faq/. We already have stamps for all of them, they'll come with suggested messages that are proven to be effective, and the only thing we'll still need is hands to write with.
The venue: Alan and Rachel's condo in Davis Square. Guests will need to be able to propel themselves up two flights of stairs and to inhabit a space with two cats (if weather permits, we'll have the windows open). We'll provide various snacks and beverages, pizza at lunchtime, and takeout for whoever's around at 6PM-ish.
If you'd like to take a batch of postcards for writing elsewhere, let me know and we can work that out too.
