Open House: Archives and Special Collections - An Audio/Visual Exhibition

This event is a collaborative installation between Interactive Composition students and Animation students. These group works are in response to the Archives and Special Collections at the Baillieu library at the Parkville campus featuring an extensive collection of rare books, prints and historical maps. As well as exploring this collection, students will also investigate the Rare Music collection which features a catalogue of music manuscripts, printed scores, books, archival and other music-related material, including photographs and ephemera, spanning from the late 11th century through to the present day. Each work will be responding to the various characteristics of these collections and use this sonic and visual stimulus as source material to transform the entire first floor of The University of Melbourne’s music building for the annual Open House event.
