OPEN DESIGN TALKS [03] - HI-FI & LOW-FI. ALDO SOLLAZZO AND MARC MORRO
Aldo Sollazzo and Marc Morro at Open Design Editions
About this Event
In music, Hi-Fi and Low-Fi are not just sound quality. They speak to how you record, how you listen, and above all, to a philosophy. To an aesthetic that defines an entire project. When we invited Aldo Sollazzo and Marc Morro to talk about design, it was the first thing that came to my mind. On one side: spatial data analysis, artificial intelligence applied to behavior, simulation, optimization, and digital fabrication. Aldo shows us how design can be a system that learns from data, and how robots can condition language. On the other: the attentive gaze, emotion, warmth, what cannot be measured but is felt. Marc reminds us that design is also a tactile craft, narrative, almost artisanal in the best sense. Two ways of understanding the craft. Complementary. And mind you: not as distant as they seem.
