Mass Motion Dance Boston is located at 100 Holton Street, Brighton, MA 02135 and is accessible by public transportation to Boston Landing, bus stops on Western Avenue, and lots of free parking.

While some walk-up registration may be possible, pre-registration is strongly recommended.

Same place, same time

You do not have to participate in Open Call master classes to take advantage of Dancer Health Day wellness screenings by Boston's best dance medicine clinicians.

Both standard and adaptive screenings are available and all screenings are conducted clothed. Wear leotards or something comfortable to move in.

If you are taking master classes, make sure to sign up for a screening at a time when you will not be in class.

We are committed to doing our best to insure that these events are as safe as possible.

You will be asked to affirm that you have had no Covid symptoms in the past three days. You will also be asked to sign a standard waiver against injury or illness as well as a photo/video release.

Masks strongly recommended during master classes (instructors may request on-site that dancers wear masks). Teachers may choose not to wear masks while leading master classes so that they can be heard.

Masks will be required for clinicians and dancers during wellness examinations.

All registrants will be contacted if The City of Boston prohibits indoor public events due to a rise in COVID-19 positivity.

Doors open 9:15 AM. First class 9:30 AM – Day ends 4 PM

All classes are limited to 35 participants and registration is strongly recommended. If you sign up when the class is already full, you can be added to a waiting list and notified. If you sign up for a single class, are waitlisted, and cannot be accommodated, your registration fee will be refunded.

No one is cut from the audition/master classes; however, if you leave you will not be permitted to return.

With the exception of the Ballet Embodiment class which begins the day, dancers should come to class warmed up and ready to dance.

9:30-11:30 AM Ballet Embodiment with Martha Tornay and Melissa Sallee (Note: you may take this class on flat, wearing pointe shoes, and/or using any assistive/mobility devices you prefer).

Suitable for dancers of all abilities, including dancers with disabilities, senior dancers, and those who want to experience inclusive formats that engage dancers of all abilities.

12-12:50 PM Contemporary Session I* with Brian McGinnis

1-1:50 PM Contemporary Session II* with Brian McGinnis

*These two classes are as close to identical as possible. You may only sign up for one of them.

2-2:50 PM Jazz/Commercial with Ruka White

3-3:50 PM Freestyle Hip Hop Foundations with Alex Ambila

Find dancers for your projects! Choreographers attend for free, but must be members of BDA or Stage Source. Join or rejoin today! Please note: unless requested otherwise, we will share the names of the attending choreographers/companies.

Mass Motion Boston is wheelchair accessible. While dancers with disabilities are particularly invited to take Ballet Embodiment, you are welcome to join any class.

Touring of the Mass Motion space before the master class on September 25 can be arranged by appointment.
