**General Walk - No registration required**
Description: The walk aims to introduce the Persian culture, and I intend to inspire people to talk about cultural differences, and how to embrace them and move toward a more inclusive community. This walk is a good opportunity for people to talk about their cultural backgrounds as well as getting to know one of the oldest cultures in Middle East, a country called Iran!
Walk Leader: Pegah - As an urban, planner and designer, I intend to share my enthusiasm for cities and urban, settlements people, and encourage us to look at our surrounding through a different lens. My intention is to instill this sense of community and responsibility among citizens and contribute to creating inclusive community.
Starting place: Harry Jerome Community Recreation Centre (North Vancouver)
How to recognize your walk leader(s): I will wear a distinctive cloth, matching the theme of my walk
Accessibility Info: Busy sidewalks, Family-friendly, Pet-friendly, The slopes can be quite steep
Travel Tips: Easy bus from Londsdale Quay and Phibbs Exchange, some street parking available if you drive
This event is taking place as part of the Jane’s Walk Vancouver Festival (May 2-5 2024). Jane’s Walk is an annual festival of free, citizen-led walking conversations inspired by Jane Jacobs. Check out other Jane’s Walks happening this year in Vancouver here.
